Motion Settings
Motion Settings are leveraged when defining the Archive Settings for archiving video data. There are two settings to determine the overall sensitivity of the setting.
The first is Motion Sensitivity which is a designation for the amount of change between two concurrent frames (the lower the value the more highly sensitive the setting). This can be thought of as the size of a square grid on the image Field of View. The smaller the grid the more likely the threshold of motion is to be triggered.
The second is Motion Difference which defines a ratio value for the amount of motion variance. The larger the number the less likely to be flagged for archiving.
The system contains 5 default settings:
- High: Indicates high sensitivity towards motion and will result in greater data storage
- Medium-High: A common setting for more secure areas
- Medium: The most common archive setting for normal surveillance cameras.
- Medium-Low: Often times used on exterior cameras when the objective is to capture larger motion only (such as vehicles).
- Low: Minimal archive data only triggering on larger scene differences.
