Multi-Level Mapping

As shown above on the Map Browser Overlay users have the opportunity to navigate multiple maps using the All Maps Search button. When expanded this function allows a user to search or browse hierarchically all, maps they have permissions to view.

Multi-Floor Mapping

If a site is defined by having multiple maps nested within it, these maps can be browsed as floors using the Floors button.

Custom Map Layers and Map Item Groups

Layers on a map (as defined in the Map Layout Editor) can be selected or hidden by a user in order to better display crowded objects on a Map. Sometimes these layers are used to separate camera or device function (as illustrated below), while other times users may choose to layer sites or objects on a campus overview map.

Map Item Groups, which are defined in Administration Module under Map Item Groups, allow grouping of objects to show or hide on a map independent of map specific layers. Map Item Groups are global across all maps and will show as a selectable option on each map an object associated with that group is displayed. Map Layers on the other hand, are specific to one individual map.

Cameras or objects can be associated to both layers and Map Item Groups.
