Setup User Profile
When a new user logs in for the first time, they may wish to setup general preferences for future access to the software. This may include changing of their password and setting default settings or views. To access this User Profile setup, the user should navigate to any module (other than the Welcome Module) and select the Settings Widget on the Top Navigation Bar adjacent to the user’s name.
From the User Profile option, the user profile configuration dialogue box will appear. Available tabs listed on the left side panel include: Basic Information, Contact Details and Preferences. Under the Basic Information tab the user has options to change their assigned password, upload a personal photo, and select the option to Show Extended Tool-Tips (for more descriptive information on selected icons and buttons). Under the Preferences tab the user has options available to customize the user experience. The user may choose to adjust settings that will be pertinent to their user experience. It is important to note that changes made here for the user are only reflected for that individual user.
Under User Profile Preferences users can set Basic Information, Contact Details and User Preferences, options include:
- Select preferred language for system text and information
- Select default landing/startup page for future visits
- Select Camera default Layout
- Select Camera Header options
- Select Default PTZ Control Options
- Select a Default Map
- Set Archive Start time
- Set Archive Intervals
- Set Pop Up Event Notification
- Set Default Audio volume
- Select Audible Alerts for messages and events
- Select to Disable Digital PTZ
- Select Default to Borderless mufti-views
- Select Invert joystick vertical control
- Select to Empty the Camera dock on new session
- Select to Enable Notifications for all events
- Select Auto Play Archives
- Select to Set camera container background from snapshot
- Select to Stretch stream to fit camera container
While these options may be initially configured by an administrator in the User Settings of Administration, they may be further customized and adjusted by the individual user in the User Profile component.
By leveraging these default options a user could for example select a User-Saved Layout for cameras and select the Camera Viewer as their Startup Page, thereby creating a scenario where every time they logged in, they would see a preferred set of cameras by default without having to execute any mouse-clicks or searches.
